Day 5 after LASIK. I’ve not washed my face with facial foam for 6 days although I can wash with plain water but I just felt so dirty. I, too, forgot to tidy up my eyebrow before LASIK so they are now extremely messy. :( can’t do anything about them now.

Back for review on Monday and I hope my eyes recovery is on track! It has been awesome waking up and being able to see without having to reach out to feel for my spec. I am loving LASIK although I think my face is soooo oily haha!

Oh, and I’ve been wearing my sunglasses or hello kitty spec everywhere to protect my eyes (and hide my oily, no makeup face). Haha! 我用有色眼光看你们喔！

Day 1 after LASIK. Went down for my 1st review and my right eye still cant see perfectly. :( both of my eyes can’t read the smallest text but my right eye can’t even read most of the small text. I am guessing this is normal as my eyes are not completely healed because none of the nurses look worried.

Dr Lee checked my eyes and told me they are healing and asked me to take extra care of them so I ended up wearing my sunglasses out and hello kitty spec at home in case I forgot and rub my eyes.

I did something stupid! The nurse asked if I need to get more eye drop but I thought I have more than enough so I said I’ll get them next week and left. After reaching home I realized I’ve already used 3/4 of my supply and my next review is on Monday!

Look like I’ll have to drop down again tomorrow. What a complete idiot.

And they provided me with eye shield to protect my eyes while I’m sleeping. I’ve no idea how to use them so I used the surgery tape and tape them everywhere to secure them. :p A friend commented that I’m a housefly while my husband said I’m an alien 👽. What say you?

The scariest roller coaster is nothing compared to being told “ok, now hold still. Don’t move your head, don’t move your eyes. You’re doing good. Now hold still” and another nurse at the back going “28sec… 20 sec… 10 sec. Last 5 sec. 5. 4. 3. 2. 1” and the weird feeling when the suction is pulled away.

The cutting of flap freaked me out more than the actual LASIK somehow. I was a bundle of nerves and was so scared I’d move and *cue final destination scene*. LOL

Dr Lee Sao Bing has recommended intralace method for me so i had some bubbles in my eyes after creating the flap and i had to spend the next few minutes continuously blinking.

The LASIK was fast. I stared at a green light as Dr Lee opened my flap and focus my eye to the middle. Then I stated at a red light and the laser started with a loud zzz sound followed by burning smell and it’s over. I think it’s only 15 sec per eye.

I could see immediately after the LASIK. I was a little unstable at first and the nurse guided me to the sofa to rest, not cos of my vision but cos I was so nervous. Haha!

After giving me my eye drop medication and giving me very clear instruction, the nurse did a final cleaning of my eyes and Dr Lee did a final checking and I was free to go home!

I had to nap immediately and I woke up every hour to apply the 3 kind of eye drops. With God’s grace, I’ve absolutely no pain in my left eye at all, not even tearing, while there’s a very slight discomfort in my right eye.

I’ll need to go back tomorrow and a week later for review. So I guess I’ll go sleep again now to rest my eyes. I can see without contact lens! :D

I’m going for LASIK tomorrow and honesty I’m still having mixed feeling about it. I won’t be able to wear normal contact lens ever again and if my degree ever come back I’ll have to custom make my contact lens and according to Dr, it’ll be super expensive.

And that also mean I won’t be able to wear my big eyes lens nor colored lens again. Not that I wear them often as they are so uncomfortable for work (long hours at computer) but it’s nice to doll up once in a while.

I’ve decided to go ahead because:

1) my astig is really high (250!) so my soft lens toric cost about $400+ a year.

2) my working hours getting pretty long and my eyes feel really tired from long hours of wearing contact lens and staring at computer.

3) I hate being blind when I go swimming.

4) not having to wear spec/contact lens make it easier to rush to baby’s side in future, esp in the night. And no spec for baby to pull! Haha!

5) I am getting old. Big eye lens and colored lens look weird on an auntie anyway. Heh!

6) eye infection are no fun!

7) everyone raves about it after they have their LASIK and no one I know have their degree coming back.

8) with God’s blessing, I’ve Dr Lee Sao Bing as my doctor and his profile is so impressive that I felt safer doing my LASIK.

9) I really want perfect eye sight!

10) too much money to spare. Hahaha ok this is a joke. I just can’t think of a number 10. Hmmm, how about no need to worry about bringing along spare contact lens and spec when going on a holiday?

So yes, I’m going for LASIK tomorrow! I’m really scared though but I was made to watch this video during my pre-LASIK assessment and the girl being interviewed was going, “I was all nerves and before I can settle down it was all over.” so I guess the operation must be really fast and painless. But still… I’m scared.

Tonight would be the final night that I need to put on my spec after showering (before bed). But it won’t be the final night that I can’t be bothered to comb my hair like in the photo! Heh.

Gonna miss my spec-look a little, but … Perfect eyesight, see you tomorrow!

Standing desk

It started with one person but now 4 of my team members are using the standing desk!

Today is day 3 of my standing desk and my legs are aching! Day 1 and 2 weren’t so bad as I had a lot of meeting so I had a lot of sitting time but today I spent most of my working hours standing and yup my unhealthy self is protesting.

I’m really happy to get rid of my aching lower back though! After standing to work, the dull aching feeling in my lower back is gone and my neck ain’t that tired too. Woo hoo!

Let’s hope I can continue with this standing desk and stop dying young from over-sitting. :D

Whatever I am going to blog next have absolutely nothing with to with the photo I posted. It’s just cos blog posts with images look better, so I randomly picked a photo. Ha!

Anyway, that’s my old and new wallet. The black one was a gift from The Husband many years back and I love it! The pink ribbon one was from USA. The sale person noticed that I’m attracted to pink and he went into the store and came back with this saying the magic words - “it’s our new arrival and it’s pink with this adorable ribbon.” Yup, paid. Mine.

Ok, back to the topic I wanted to blog about. I was talking to some friends and we were bitching about work and all. So as usual, we always joked about quitting our job and be rich tai-tai at home. But in all seriousness, I don’t think I can really be jobless and living off my husband. I like being independent and being able to buy whatever I want/like/need. It’d be a torture going, “erm, I saw this top at h&m and it’s only $19.80, can I buy it?” like eew?! It feels so begger-ish having to live off someone!

So I guess I’ll be a slave to a job for at least 35 more years… Provided I can take my CPF (and provided I’ve enough money in my CPF!) Else it’s be slave to a job forever!

My darling's birthday

25th March 2012 was my husband’s birthday.

As usual, he went to meet his Harley friends on Saturday night and Jody and I were waiting at home planning to surprise him with his birthday present. He gave us the surprise instead when he came home with injuries. He met with an accident but luckily no broken bones, just a fractured finger and wounds on arm, side and knee.

Not wanting to disappoint me, he still went out with me to celebrate his birthday on Sunday despite being in pain. I remembered I was so happy that day and when we got home, he had to rush to bed. He was in so much pain that his body gave up and sent him to bed cold and shivering. I felt so bad!

Anyway… his birthday celebration in photo:

Hubby loves these sticks! They are slightly salty and very crunchy!

And I love these drinks - very appetizing!

So we started with the starter, which is the Chef’s selection of assorted platter.

For cold dish, I picked the Smoked Duck Breast on bed of Greens with Cranberry Vanetta.

And he picked Platter of Air Flown Seasonal Sashimi

For side dish, Darling picked Steam Fresh Bamboo Clam

Me? I picked Foie Gras Chawanmushi topped with Black Truffle Slice. Absolutely yummy!

`Lobster soup! :D ~ it’s too thick for me actually.

For main, I picked the cod fish. Bad choice. The green thing tasted really weird to me, and I still prefer my cod fish steamed the chinese way.

He picked beef tenderloin. He said it’s nice!

Dessert time! My all time favourite baked warm chocolate.

And cheesecake. They are too tiny for sweet tooth me!

When I called for reservation, Dozo asked if it’s any special celebration so I told them it’s my husband’s birthday and they provided this awesome cake!

Today’s dinner was at Neo @ 406 (Block 406 Jurong West Street 42 #01-583 Singapore 640406).

We usually try to keep our dinner budget to $30 but today we’ve definitely exceeded our budget. We paid $50+ for our meal today.

We had marmite pork ribs, 奶白 and golden mushroom, salt & pepper squid followed by 龟苓膏 and mango pudding.

The vegetable was really good and the squid is soft and tasty. Marmite pork ribs was soft but a little too bland. Overall, the food made me felt like home cooked food, so it’s good!

Pastor Prince was talking about adultery. He mentioned that men will cheat as long as it involves a skirt, but women only cheat if they feel insecure. If they feel insecure about their husbands’ love.

I think women cheat also because the husbands are unable to provide enough. Enough love, enough communication, enough understanding, enough romance, enough money, enough material needs.

Women tend to be more perfectionist than men and if their husbands are not “enough”, naturally someone better will catch our attention. Someone more romantic, someone who listen more, someone who understand more, someone richer, someone else, someone better.
